The beach of Ierissos is among the most friendly for the visitor. Is pedestrianized and has the particularity to be always closed for vehicles. Even the municipality's vehicles are not allowed to cross the pedestrian. Along the promenade there is a lawn with benches, playground and next begins the sandy beach of Ierissos. The length is about 600 meters. Along the promenade there are beach-bars, bars, restaurants, bakery, fast foods, booths. Of course all these are so distributed as to leave vacant areas large enough for free access to the beach and nothing reminiscent of the suffocating situation in coastal zones. Moreover prohibited arbitrary structures, various additions, benches and other affecting the aesthetics of the environment and that is has a stylish view. Along the beach, which is awarded with the Blue Flag for its organization, the stores don't charge deck chairs, while prices are generally affordable. During the day you can swim maybe at the best beach in a village in Greece, and in the evening you can enjoy a night out without the panic that is usually in the evenings at seaside. Furthermore, for those who have children there is a sense of security.
