Καλοκαιρινό Σχολείο ευρωπαϊκή και βαλκανική ενεργειακή πολιτική

Το Κάμπινγκ Ιερισσός στεγάζει από τη Δευτέρα 13 μέχρι και το Σάββατο 18 Ιουλίου τους συμμετέχοντες του καλοκαιρινού σχολείου που διοργανώνεται από το Πράσινο Ινστιτούτο στο στο Κέντρο Πολιτισμού στην Ιερισσό Χαλκιδικής, με θέματα την ευρωπαϊκή και βαλκανική ενεργειακή πολιτική, το φαινόμενο του θερμοκηπίου και τις συνεπαγόμενες κλιματικές αλλαγές, την καμπάνια του Ευρωπαϊκού Πράσινου Κόμματος για τα θέματα αυτά, τα πυρηνικά εργοστάσια, την εξόρυξη χρυσού και τα φαραωνικά έργα στα Βαλκάνια.

Το πρόγραμμα:

Monday, 13th of July – Global energy day
10:00-14:00 (with a short break at 12:00)
The challenge of climate change and the need for an energy revolution
*Possible themes (depending on participants/speakers):
- Climate Change Introduction (policies and intentions re climate change)
- Scientific data and expected impact in the Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean
- Adaptation measures re impacts on water-food, coasts, tourism, cities, etc.
- COP negotiations with focus on COP21 Paris: expectations, the role of key countries and the new civic movement
- Successful stories from Balkans (adaptive measures and policies implemented, societal mobilization)

Tuesday, 14th of July - Energy day
10:00-14:00 (with a short break at 12:00)
International, European and national energy policies
-Europe: 2030 Framework for climate and energy policies and European Energy Union
-The national dimension (Balkan countries): participants provide inputs on the energy profile, situation, intentions, challenges and prospects in their countries
-Solutions, best practices, prospects for cooperation on energy issues
-Nuclear power (feedback from the participants)
Greek cultural night: dinner and music

Wednesday, 15th of July – Field trip
Gold mining, Field trip to Skouries (gold mining area)
10:00-12:00:  Presentation on Gold mining
12:00-13:00: Meeting with the local authorities of the Municipality of Aristotelis
13:00: Lunch
18:00-21:00: Visit to the gold mining area. Learn about the local resistance movement and meet with local activists

Thursday, 16th of July - Mega projects

Mega projects
*Suggested themes:
- Mega projects (short history and lessons from Mega Projects, why they never work)
- Mega-projects in Turkey (Turkish participants)
- Hydroelectric dams in rivers in the Balkans and their impact on biodiversity (Balkan participants)
- Other cases of Mega-projects in Turkey, Romania, Serbia
- Fringe meetings as proposed by participants to discuss ad hoc issues of interest

- Campaigning as pre-requisite (small skill building training session, tools, strategies)

Saturday, 18th of July – Let’s do it

- Carry on work at home countries (Assessment of activities at local level, world café around 3 segments: party/ organisation, direct actions, policy work)
- Brainstorming for future camps
- Evaluation of summer camp and sessions

18:00-21:00 Discussion about the Balkan Network and the European Green Party, how to contribute, encourage participation, role and aims, structural development, relations with other structures, future activities
